Being One With Nature means...

   .

What does Being One with Nature mean?

The answer may differ from person to person. But Nature is indeed the ultimate healer, nerves calmer, soul searcher, and peacemaker...One who lives in the lap of nature lives a truly blissful life. The trees, the birds, the animals, the sky, the water, the hills, the sun, the moon..everything in nature has the power to calm us..to bless us with peace...

On this World Environment Day, let's ponder over this question...

What does being one with Nature mean?

Being one with nature means being conscious of the life around us..the  trees, the animals, the insects..and the Microbes! One may see life in inanimate things..the hills, the oceans, the ponds, the rivers, the rocks, the sand, the soil... It means being respectful about the things surrounding us..

Being one with nature means respecting the existence of little big animals, birds, insects around us. As far as possible..not harming them by being conscious of their existence...

Being-One-With-Nature-Plants

Being one with nature means looking at the sky and watching the beautiful changing colors. It leads to a humbling experience that we are tiny little dots in the huge cosmos...too little to take life seriously...

Being-One-With-Nature-Sky

Being one with nature means working in nature..gardening, farming, composting, planting... sweating in the soil the precious drops from our life...

Being-One-With-Nature-Farming

Being one with nature means feeling the drops of rain on the face...mixing our drops from eyes into them...

Being one with nature means flaunting our nature drawing which resembles nature...

Being one with nature means being one with our Self..calming our nerves, healing our soul..and being thankful to the CREATOR for creating such a beautiful world filled with awesome things...!

Living After Corona

Corona has taught us many lessons. So, what are the positive effects of the corona, and what could the living after corona? Let's take a look.

The atmosphere is cooler. There is an approximate drop of 3 degrees Celsius in the average temperature in May at my place in Vidarbha. It used to run till 45 degrees since April and strive hard to go beyond that. Till late at night, hot weather/ hot breeze was normal in the month of May. Yesterday, we sat on the terrace in the moonlit sky to enjoy the full moon. The breeze is cooler. The biodiversity is blooming. The birds are chirping for a long time and butterflies roaming around happily.

You may guess like me that it is a corona effect. Mother Nature had plans to curb the invasions of man on its territory. This is the same 3-degree Celcius which was leading us to climate change with the melting of glaciers and all other effects.

Corona may go in a few days. Or worst in a few years until we learn to live with it. But are we going to learn our lessons?

Keeping fumes of the factories aside, less transportation/ travel can be one of the reasons for the drop. The airplanes, the trains, the cars are silent. Can we have solutions to keep this transport/travel minimum even after corona is gone?

Finding a balance between economic development and the environment is hard. But if we do not take the environment into consideration in our daily busyness, mother nature has her ways as we can see in the corona case. Corona is a mild virus as the death rate is lower. Mother nature can give us severe punishments if we don't improve our behavior.

No need to recommend anything to change lifestyles. All of us are aware of the changes. But each one of us has to think through what changes he/she should make for an environment-friendly living.

Big corporates are bad for the environment. We talk about laborers who do physical work being exploited. Well, time to think of ourselves if we are getting exploited as well being deprived of the time for self and for the family.

Last line to ponder upon. Even though money is important, money can’t buy happiness but simple pleasures of life in the lap of nature surely do. Otherwise why do we take vacations for?

Spending time with nature creatively

Spending time with nature creatively is the best use of time!

Working in the garden to realize the calming power of nature is bliss. The leaves, the flowers, the fruits, the birds, the colors make you fresh. And you don't need any special glow on the skin after that. Breathing in the fresh air makes you alive.

You water the plants and feel as if you are giving water to the thirsty. In turn getting, flowers, fruits, colors from them.

Sweeping the garden, gathering the waste, you head to your composting unit where compost is ready. The sweet smell of soil makes you happy.

Then you turn towards flowers. Beautiful flowers fill their beauty in your eyes. The scent fills in your nose. The short span of life of flowers is meant to give happiness to others. Can we spread happiness and beauty in the world like flowers?

Goddess of the home is waiting for her Gajra. You pluck a few scented flowers for that.

Floral arrangements are another good way to spend time creatively with nature. Flowers, leaves, twigs, using everything available in the garden and produce your own masterpiece. Creative use of the time spent in nature is the best way to feel relaxed.

Nature itself is a big beautiful creation. Floral arrangements are little offerings to the creator to feel HIS presence around you!

Spending time with nature creatively nourishes your soul, makes you happy. It is the best way to start a day!

4 Doable Steps towards Sustainable Future

Tired of hot temperatures?
Fed up with traffic on the roads?
Feel Climate change is for real?

Here are four doable steps towards Sustainable Future!
Few steps you can definitely take for environmental protection.

Mahatma Gandhi said, 'Be the change you want to see in this world!'

A sustainable future is in our hands!

1) Plant Trees :

This is not new. Everyone loves to take part in plantation drives. Participate in plantation drives or at least plant trees around your home or office premises. But conservation of trees needs commitment. If you don't have time for that or you are sheer lazy, donate for the cause of tree plantation. You may donate monthly/ yearly amount to them. Volunteer for them when you have time. On Birthdays/Anniversaries you can plant trees with donations.

Guess what? You may get real-time pictures of the growth of the plants for which you have paid!

SayTreesAfforest are doing incredible work. If you have spare land or a big backyard, consider Miyawaki Forest Development. Details you will get here: Afforest

2) Install Solar Panels on your roof:

Prices of solar panels have been brought down. Solar energy is within our reach. If you have an independent house, install solar panels.

An added benefit: You can sell excess solar energy to the electricity board.

The initial investment you need to bear. But it is worth for long run. Check this link:
Tata Solar Power

At the society level, you can initiate discussions to make residential society solar powered.
If not feasible, you may install a solar water heater to minimize electricity usage.

3) Minimize using four-wheeler:

Driving a car on the city roads lead to congestion. You may bear a little bit of inconvenience by commuting to office by office bus/shared vehicle/ public transport. Your own car adds up the traffic on roads. If you are ingenious, design a compact car for 1 or 2 people.

If you have an old vehicle, you may switch to BS 6 vehicle as early as possible.

You should consider stopping wasted time in traffic. This can be achieved by bringing home closer to the office or changing the office to be near the home. Your life gets a toll due to traveling time.

4) Think about energy alternatives:

Changing conventional bulbs with LED definitely brings down energy usage. You may bear the replacement costs to minimize electricity usage. Switch on AC only if needed in case of very high temperatures. Or make your AC solar powered! A little bit of heat is good for health. Sadguru suggests living in the fresh air instead of air-conditioned air :-)

Environmental protection is in our hands.

Everyone knows it is necessary...
Don't deny that it is necessary...

If most of the people, follow at least some of these 4 doable steps towards a sustainable future, we can see good days for the environment we live in!

Wonderful World of Insects - how we coexist peacefully!

Wonderful World of Insects 🐝🐞
----------------------------------------------------
World is wonderful. Insects - one of the life forms on earth are part of it. In fact, there is a wonderful world of insects out there and we should coexist with them peacefully ...

Here is a wonderful world of insects through my eyes!

Bees🐝
I was glad to see them in large numbers in Mechelen, Belgium. Precisely because the city is blooming with all kinds of flowers in Summer.🌹🌺🌻🌼🌷
You may be knowing a famous quote by Einstein.
"If the bee disappeared off the face of the Earth, man would only have four years left to live" 😮
Getting concerned to know this quote, my husband once took us to honey beekeeping center at Mahabaleshwar. Like a brave person, I experienced taking the beehive in my hand. Bees are good if you don't harm them. Just let them 'Be(e)'.

Long live the wonderful world of Insects!

Housefly:
One or two are seen in the home sometimes in summer. And my brave husband meticulously gets rid of them.

Mosquitoes:
Sometimes one or two mosquitoes sing songs for us when we try to sleep. And the sudden irritation pops up which drives the sleep away for some time. But unfortunately, it doesn't drive mosquitoes away at any point in time.

Cockroaches
I am relaxed a bit as I don't have to deal with cockroaches here...
In the previous apartment at Pune, we had to bear the nuance of cockroaches a lot. I am that way very brave person who doesn't fear cockroaches! Well, 3-4 small cockroaches don't do any harm. But in Pune, they were in the hundreds of numbers and used to multiply quickly. I used to google all sorts of information to get rid of them. But, pest control was inevitable.
By the way, human population has also multiplied in this century in the same way.

Ladybugs🐞
My daughter becomes terrified with these little red insects under the trees here. The excitement and fear were hand in hand when she saw ladybugs first.
Peppa Pig 'the omniscient' has given big knowledge about ladybugs to my little girl.
There are numerous wonderful insects roaming around in this world...it's a pleasure to just observe their tiny little world!! 🤩
Ultimately, they also have a role to play in the larger ecosystem...
This wonderful world of insects is largely explored..but some things remains unexplored and there is a hidden beauty in unexplored things! Isn't it?

Why sea is so important ? Do read this!

Ever wondered why sea is so important in our lives?

Read these remarkable things about sea and life around, feel nothing but the AWE!!

Mesmerized by the SEA

We all get mesmerized by the SEA whenever we visit a beach..
After a sea shore visit, my daughter's creativity is on a peak. She actually built a home by the sea and told her Baba that we will live near the sea! To depict that she kept three balloons in the home she built.
Sea is the blue strip in front of home which she has painted with water color. And there is blue slide near the heart shape which takes you inside the sea! We also have a lighthouse and a tree nearby...
I would certainly love a home like that!!!
Every time we visit a beach we get mesmerized by the SEA and the sea shells. Sea shells are little wonders on earth. Every sea visit is incomplete without picking up the shells.  My daughter took all the extra efforts to clean all the shells and kept it for drying. She is just waiting for her lazy Aai to buy a special glue for her to make a sea shells craft...Glad with her creativity, I will definitely get it today!
Children are little wonders widely unexplored just like world's big wonder – the SEA!

Fall in Love....With Trees

Somewhere far into the jungle or in a refreshing green park or on everyday commuting road, you come across a tree, and there goes a bell inside your heart!
Oh. Wow! What a fantastic tree! Has it ever happened to you? If not, try paying more attention to the trees around, you will discover their beauty within.

Chances are you will fall in love with trees! :-)

Every human being is unique, so is the tree. Different trees...different looks...different qualities!

In school days, we were taught the importance of trees. But to fall in love with trees is never taught! Even if the tree plantation drive takes place, it is most of the time on a superficial level and we don't create a special bond with planted trees.

Most of us have heard the story of a boy and an apple tree. In the story, the tree provides everything that the boy needs till he reaches old age never expecting anything in return. Ultimately, old man realizes his mistake and starts watering tree which has been a friend lifelong. Nice story to depict human-tree special bond!!
Trees are an integral part of biodiversity. On this international biodiversity day, let's try to know more about trees, plant more trees and nurture trees.

Trees are cool as they make the surrounding atmosphere cooler and bestow us with nice sleep under their shadows. To know more about plant/tree life around, you can refer engaging books on trees and you will fall in love with them all over again!

If you like this article, share your pic with a tree just like I did!!!

Life without Technology

Yes...It's very much true that technological innovations have altered our world to a greater extend. I experienced it at one go what life without technology like mobile and laptop means. So much dependence... and yes.. we can say obsession

So it just happened that last week my laptop felled down from the table and it refused to boot up...Next day, I broke the screen of the mobile and it started working crazily. Ooff!! And then we were really running behind these two items to work again! Those days I lost my peace of mind somewhere when I realized I do not have sufficient back up of the memories I created within last two years. And my innermost fear came true that the hard disk was damaged

Anyway...after third day I gained control over things without technology. I read an entire book in one day after long time. That was immensely satisfying feeling! Suddenly my home looked more organized to me as I started paying more attention to household stuff..  Baked cake twice a week and made Sai happier! We are already living here without Television. But anyway, I have stopped watching TV long time ago. So, I have no obsession with that. Sai resumed playing on her own without requesting me to switch on her favorite Peppa Pig. I really believe Peppa Pig is so much magical that even my husband had started watching it along with my daughter 🙂🙂

This life without technology is really peaceful as there are less distractions. You are cut off from the rest of the world and this world really looks like a small place  You tend to spend more time with your loved ones and create lasting memories in your mind rather than on the technology!!!
