4 Doable Steps towards Sustainable Future

Tired of hot temperatures?
Fed up with traffic on the roads?
Feel Climate change is for real?

Here are four doable steps towards Sustainable Future!
Few steps you can definitely take for environmental protection.

Mahatma Gandhi said, 'Be the change you want to see in this world!'

A sustainable future is in our hands!

1) Plant Trees :

This is not new. Everyone loves to take part in plantation drives. Participate in plantation drives or at least plant trees around your home or office premises. But conservation of trees needs commitment. If you don't have time for that or you are sheer lazy, donate for the cause of tree plantation. You may donate monthly/ yearly amount to them. Volunteer for them when you have time. On Birthdays/Anniversaries you can plant trees with donations.

Guess what? You may get real-time pictures of the growth of the plants for which you have paid!

SayTreesAfforest are doing incredible work. If you have spare land or a big backyard, consider Miyawaki Forest Development. Details you will get here: Afforest

2) Install Solar Panels on your roof:

Prices of solar panels have been brought down. Solar energy is within our reach. If you have an independent house, install solar panels.

An added benefit: You can sell excess solar energy to the electricity board.

The initial investment you need to bear. But it is worth for long run. Check this link:
Tata Solar Power

At the society level, you can initiate discussions to make residential society solar powered.
If not feasible, you may install a solar water heater to minimize electricity usage.

3) Minimize using four-wheeler:

Driving a car on the city roads lead to congestion. You may bear a little bit of inconvenience by commuting to office by office bus/shared vehicle/ public transport. Your own car adds up the traffic on roads. If you are ingenious, design a compact car for 1 or 2 people.

If you have an old vehicle, you may switch to BS 6 vehicle as early as possible.

You should consider stopping wasted time in traffic. This can be achieved by bringing home closer to the office or changing the office to be near the home. Your life gets a toll due to traveling time.

4) Think about energy alternatives:

Changing conventional bulbs with LED definitely brings down energy usage. You may bear the replacement costs to minimize electricity usage. Switch on AC only if needed in case of very high temperatures. Or make your AC solar powered! A little bit of heat is good for health. Sadguru suggests living in the fresh air instead of air-conditioned air :-)

Environmental protection is in our hands.

Everyone knows it is necessary...
Don't deny that it is necessary...

If most of the people, follow at least some of these 4 doable steps towards a sustainable future, we can see good days for the environment we live in!
