Corona has taught us many lessons. So, what are the positive effects of the corona, and what could the living after corona? Let's take a look.
The atmosphere is cooler. There is an approximate drop of 3 degrees Celsius in the average temperature in May at my place in Vidarbha. It used to run till 45 degrees since April and strive hard to go beyond that. Till late at night, hot weather/ hot breeze was normal in the month of May. Yesterday, we sat on the terrace in the moonlit sky to enjoy the full moon. The breeze is cooler. The biodiversity is blooming. The birds are chirping for a long time and butterflies roaming around happily.
You may guess like me that it is a corona effect. Mother Nature had plans to curb the invasions of man on its territory. This is the same 3-degree Celcius which was leading us to climate change with the melting of glaciers and all other effects.
Corona may go in a few days. Or worst in a few years until we learn to live with it. But are we going to learn our lessons?
Keeping fumes of the factories aside, less transportation/ travel can be one of the reasons for the drop. The airplanes, the trains, the cars are silent. Can we have solutions to keep this transport/travel minimum even after corona is gone?
Finding a balance between economic development and the environment is hard. But if we do not take the environment into consideration in our daily busyness, mother nature has her ways as we can see in the corona case. Corona is a mild virus as the death rate is lower. Mother nature can give us severe punishments if we don't improve our behavior.
No need to recommend anything to change lifestyles. All of us are aware of the changes. But each one of us has to think through what changes he/she should make for an environment-friendly living.
Big corporates are bad for the environment. We talk about laborers who do physical work being exploited. Well, time to think of ourselves if we are getting exploited as well being deprived of the time for self and for the family.
Last line to ponder upon. Even though money is important, money can’t buy happiness but simple pleasures of life in the lap of nature surely do. Otherwise why do we take vacations for?
